The Colorado Cultural and Historical Resources Task Force (CHR-TF) is a volunteer group that provides response and recovery support to cultural organizations threatened or affected by emergencies. With a Steering Committee from small and large institutions, universities, state and federal agencies, we are a dynamic team with a goal of preserving collections across the state when disaster strikes.
We are currently recruiting new members and especially looking for persons who can volunteer meaningfully with our organization as:
County or regional cultural resources contact - Are you familiar with most of the cultural organizations in your county or larger area? In the event of a large disaster, would you be able to inform CHR of threatened or affected organizations?
Web site manager: Are you interested in being our webmaster (currently Squarespace) to help us keep our website up to date. Or even better, redesign our website using Squarespace or another platform?
ArcGIS (AGOL) manager: We are in the final stages of updating and doing quality control on a state-wide map of libraries, museums, and archives. Do you have experience updating and managing an Esri Arc-GIS (AGOL) database and map?
Organizational Development: We want to prepare to grow our organization and become more formalized to meet the rapidly changing world we live in. Do you have experience in organizational processes to contribute to this effort?
We are preparing virtual info sessions to introduce and orient persons with our organization. Whatever you feel you could contribute in terms of skills or interest, please contact us to find out more information on getting involved. You can also join our listserv to stay informed of emergencies or opportunities.
